JMS Visual Arts

At JMS, we offer 2 classes: Intro Art and Adv. Art for 6-8th grade students. In these courses, students will explore the Elements and Principles of Art and Design. Units of instruction will include art history, artists, various art techniques, and art criticism. The fundamentals of visual arts are taught through projects in both 2D and 3D disciplines.

Our learning goals are:

•Learn and identify visual art terms.

•Regconize the development of visual art from a cultural and historical perspective.

•Observe, select, and utilize a variety of ideas, subject matters and technical skills in creating original works of art.

• Appreciate visual arts as a vehicle of human expression.

The courses are taught by Ms. Le.
